Chamber-Sponsored Events and Support Projects
The Chamber is involved in a number of activities and community events throughout the year that are designed to build community pride (while gaining exposure for the Chamber and its members). The Chamber also provides a great deal of additional information and resources to visitors and residents of the Springfield area in a number of other ways:
- Provide Christmas decoration for the City of Springfield with the help of the Pieschel Foundation and fund raisers.
- Participate in local Riverside Day Parade - promote Riverside Day Queen contest.
- Springfield float appears in area celebrations.
- Hotline to pass along pertinent information to businesses
- Provides information for phone inquiries that are very broad based.
- Participates in creating and funding the Springfield Brochure and distributes them locally and in area brochure racks.
- Provides "First Dollar" plaques and "Chamber Member" plaques to businesses
- An Annual meeting/dinner/entertainment is held in January - All chamber members invited.
- The Chamber is a member of Bridging Brown County. Secretary attends these meetings.
- Member of the Southwest Minnesota Chamber Executives (meet quarterly in New Ulm)
- Advertised in the Southern Minnesota Tourism Guide (145,000) are printed and distributed in major newspapers in surrounding states and by the Minnesota Office of Tourism.
